| Four kittens were rescued and treated for cuts at Foxy Lodge Wildlife Rescue |
Physinews:; British Transport Police are seeking a person
who threw a litter of kittens at a train travelling
from Norwich to Great Yarmouth.
It happened shortly before 5.20pm on
Thursday 15 September, with the train driver
telling police he saw the animals being thrown
from the undergrowth near Lingwood station on
a foot crossing.
Officers went to the site and found a dead cat -
which had died before the incident - and one
dead kitten.
Four others were recovered and taken to Foxy
Lodge Wildlife Rescue in the Norfolk town of
Hemsby where they were treated by vets for
cuts.
Two have since been rehomed.
Police Sergeant Alan Bowell said: "No animal
should ever be subjected to such cruelty.
Thankfully, not all the kittens were killed during
this dreadful ordeal and they are being well
looked after.
"I am very keen to hear from anyone who might
have information which can help us investigate
the circumstances surrounding this incident."
A spokesperson from the RSPCA said: "This
sounds like a horrific incident for these poor
kittens.
"Deliberate cruelty to animals is unacceptable
and we would urge anyone with any
information about this to come forward and
contact the British Transport Police as soon as
possible."
